COLOR PURPLE BOOK REPORTThe Color Purple was written by Alice Walker and is 295 pages in length. This book is a dairy of a girl who has gone through many hardships during her life. It took me about two weeks to finished this book, give or take a little. This book tells the life of one girl who over case hurt and suffering over and over, to make her a truly wonderful person. Her mother dies when she is very young and she is repeatedly raped by her father and bores him two children, which he claims that he kills in the forest out back. Then she is sold to a man with no heart and bratty children her who to take care of. She has to lave her loving sister, Nettie, who is the only one in the world who cares for Celie. Right about the time Celie begins to care for a showgirl, Shug, her luck begins to change. She makes a friend who takes care of her, like her sister would have. The years of this book falls upon those full of slavery and sexism. It is very hard for Celie, Nettie and Shug to get respect much less lead happy lives. Although Celie led a horrible life she was able to live it day to day, and not dwell on the cards that life had given her in the past. She is over all a very pleasant women throughout the whole book, only letting jealously take over once or twice through the book. Bibliography The Color Purple, Alice Walker |
